bugis_vowels

DiacritcsAccording to Henry and Mallarangeng, the Bugis Letters are considered as
consonant, just like in Latin Letters, therefore, in order to get word with
vowel, it is consider that the vowel is added to consonant. However, the
vowel added to consonant in Local Curriculum is called Diacritics or
accents, it is added to the primary font called “ina’ sure'”, while
the diacritics itself is called “ana sure” which symbols are written as in
the example presented by Henry and Mallarangeng as of the above.

New Feature of BugisA Font

Just found new information of the use of BugisA font for writing a
consonant as published in

http://www.seasite.niu.edu/bugis_font.htm

We have added one feature to the font. Because
the written language does not include syllable final consonants, it is
impossible to transcribe many non- Bugis words, such as “batik”. The
final ‘k’ would be ‘ka’ and so one would be forced to read “batika”.

We propose that a line under a character be used to mark such a
vowel-less consonant. You can type this symbol by typing the underscore
character just after typing the consonant to be so marked.

So the keystroke sequence for “batik” would be “btik_”
(corrected) – btik_
